JIGGERS CAMPAIGN

Jiggers caused by the sand flea Tunga penetrans, are a significant health problem in East Africa, particularly affecting children and the elderly in areas with poor hygiene and limited awareness of prevention. The fleas burrow into the skin, causing painful, debilitating wounds that can lead to infections and hinder daily activities like walking and attending school.

-Jiggers (tungiasis) are caused by adult female sand fleas (Tunga penetrans) that burrow into the skin, often on the feet,After burrowing, the flea feeds and lays eggs, causing pain, inflammation, and itching

-Jiggers can lead to severe pain, secondary infections, and even death, especially in children and the elderly,Young children, the elderly, and individuals with poor personal hygiene are particularly vulnerable

Revival and Hope for Children Programme we have a programme to Help the Elderly and School Childrens to get footwear/Shoes Because The absence of shoes increases exposure to sand fleas and promotes infestations.

RHCP ERADICATION OF JIGGERS IN COMMUNITY ,SCHOOL AND PROGRAM

We are Eradicating Jiggers Using lemongrass oil to alleviate symptoms and improve the quality of life for those affected. and improving sanitation With Clean water in Schools and Communities , and ensuring access to proper medical care and protective footwear are ongoing challenges in the fight against jiggers.

– Also Use permethrin cream. We give them to Apply to affected areas twice daily for Five days and Benzyl benzoate lotion for them to Apply twice daily for Six days.

– Other Times we use Cryotherapy To Freeze the affected area with liquid nitroge

-Other Times we use Potassium permanganate bathsTheir Soak their feet in a solution of potassium permanganate for 10 minutes daily

– in Other places we are Forces to do Manual extraction: Use a sterile needle or tweezer to carefully remove the jiggers from the skin.

ERADICATING JIGGERS IN THE HOMES AND HOUSES INDOOR

1-We help get rid of chiggers in home and Houses of the Victims especially the Elderly and Children, we thoroughly vacuum carpets and furniture, then immediately discard the vacuum bag or clean the canister.

2-We help Wash Bedding & Clothing all affected clothing, bedding, and other fabrics in hot, soapy water to eliminate any mites
